Fusion.

I believe style is subjective. And adding a modern twist to the Indian wear is just my subjective thing. Gone are those days when you wear a salwar only with a kurta. This one is a conceptualised post where I blended the salwar from mother’s wardrobe with a shirt and a top. The post actually screams fusion. Hope you like the two looks that I shared with you guys.

LOOK 1:

I created a street look pairing the salwar with a grey top and some street jewellery junkies. And the black chappals and I’m good to go. Give this look a try adding some different twist. It’s more comfortable when you are looking for something Indo-western look while going out on the streets.

LOOK 2:

I wore a shirt with the salwar and added a jacket with it. Again some street junkies added. And trust me if you are bored wearing the kurta with the salwar, this fusion comes to the rescue adding a different style to your wardrobe.

Hope you liked these looks. And remember whatever style you follow or create, just be confident and bold enough to carry that. Every single innovative style of yours will become the next gen trend. Stay beautiful.

Love

Late Summer.

This look was shot a month ago. Although it’s supposed to be in the spring/summer, but I was travelling so couldn’t post it. Also I’m going to keep this post short. I decided to do a post on one of my favourite ensembles and share the look with you guys. It’s more of a casual chic look. Off the shoulder tops are my go-to piece of clothing for the summer. All the stores have them in hundreds of colours and prints, and sometimes I just want to buy the whole lot. They look flattering & provide the perfect amount of comfort for the season. You can team them up with a pair of denim, like I did or shorts during the day, and just add statement jewellery for the night. I bought this floral print off the shoulder top from Forever21. I added these little pink toned ear studs from my mother’s jewellery box and originally from Globus, to complete the look.

Don’t forget to tell me what you think in the comment section below!
Lots of love this way!

Mango Benefits: Skin & Hair.

Mango, the king of fruits is not only scrumptious in taste but also a great beneficial for skin and hair. As the mango season is here, my beauty meddling with the fruit started. I have tried homemade mango face masks earlier and trust me it has totally worked for my skin. I have decided to share some of the helpful mango beauty hacks with you. Yeah it will need a bit time and patience to prepare the masks, apply and wait but the after results are superb. Saturdays and Sundays can be the best days for pampering yourself!

#Hack 1

Treats Blackheads: Prepare a scrub by mixing a teaspoon of mango pulp, half a teaspoon of milk powder/milk and honey. Rub it all over your face in circular motion. It removes dead skin & blackheads and also add glow to your face.

#Hack 2

Natural Moisturizer: Take some mango pulp and apply directly on your skin. Wait for 10-15 mins and wash off with cold water. It smooths your skin and act as a natural moisturizer.

#Hack 3

Anti-tan Removal: For this you need-
·         Skin of mango (raw or ripe)
·         1 teaspoon milk/milk cream
Apply some milk/milk cream on the skin of the mango and rub your face with it. Wash it off with cold water after 10-15 mins. Doing this twice a week will reduce tanning drastically.

OR

Add lemon juice to a paste of mango pulp, almond powder, gram flour and yogurt. Apply this paste on face and neck and massage in circular motion. Leave it for 20 mins and wash it off with cold water. Repeat this twice a week for best results.

#Hack 4

A Great Conditioner: This is a hair mask which works well for frizzy and unmanageable hair.  What more, it is chemical free! Once a week hair pampering is needed. All you need is:
·         2 tablespoon of Mango Pulp
·         1 tablespoon of yogurt
·         2 egg yolk.
Mix them properly and apply on your strands, especially at the ends. Leave it for 45 mins and wash it off with your regular shampoo. Your hair is soft, manageable and well-conditioned.

So these were some of the beauty benefits of mango. Do try them out once or twice a week for better results and let me know about your experience. I would love to know that!

XOXO

Pair It Up.

Hello there!

Hope you all are doing fine! I really had a super productive week as I have been engaged in different activities. And also I maintained my photo shoot and writing schedule this time as I am very keen to keep a pace with my work! (I hope this last long). So from a long time I have been thinking of doing a post completely on styling one single drapery and I guess I will be doing this quite often now.

There are some days in our life when we feel like wearing our favourite ensemble again and again but not in the same manner. This happens with me every time, be it a pair of denim or a plain white shirt. And my mother complains of buying too much every time and wearing only the same thing. But I keep in mind that I carry that outfit in different ways every time I wear it, just to break the monotony and I feel new. Today I have styled my Skater Dungaree Dress from Westside with three different top wears. O.M.G! I just love this dress. It has these cute little pockets side ward and the perfect flare. It’s a bit high waist and the perfect playful outfit.  So once you’re done taking a look at all the 3 styling ways, do let me know how you liked it! Also you will find a similar pop of color in every styling. (Pardon me as the dress looks not ironed. As it was an early morning shoot, I didn’t re-iron it)

Look 1
It’s blue and adding some orange neon accents to the look will make it look edgy. I went for the stripes.  Not to forget the striped slip-ons to make it playful at the same time.

Look 2
Now this is my personal favourite look. Earlier I was going for a shirt from my wardrobe but then dropped the idea and ransacked my father’s cupboard for this over size mint shirt. I am currently crushing over anything mint. I added a hint of neon neck piece and bag to this ensemble and wore my reading glasses to create a geek look.

Look 3
This is more of a basic look paired with a white crop top. I chose to wear my running shoes which again have this neon edge.

If you have something similar like this or any other outfit which you have styled in different ways,   do let me know guys. Till next time XOXO!

#5 Easy Beauty Hacks.

 Hey guys!

I’m back with another blog post. In this post I will be discussing #5 natural, easy and pocket friendly beauty hacks that completely deserve thumbs up. I am really a skin conscious. I keep a check on my skin on a regular basis so that it is radiant, clear and supple. So when it comes to choosing products for my skin, I become extra conscious. Sometimes I don’t get the desired product because they are way too much expensive and also are not for my skin type.

In such case I keep meddling with natural remedies extracted from sources that we use in our day to day life. I have shared some easy tricks that are useful and no sweat at the same time. Natural remedies are always okay to go with. I absolutely love the natural hacks. Here they go:

#Hack 1: Lip scrub

Pamper your lips with 1 tablespoon of salt and Vaseline. Mix the mixture well. Gently rub the mixture on your lips for a minute. This motion removes all the dirt and dead skin cells. Wipe away your lips with a tissue paper or a soft cloth. You can get that soft pout within a minute!

#Hack 2: Conventional Make-up Primer

They say it’s a crime not to prime. Make-up primer seals all the pores and softens the skin.  But for this you don’t have to spend on those primer brands. Get your hands on some ice cubes. Before applying foundation on your face, rub the ice cubes over the face, especially on the large pores areas. Ice cubes reduce the size of the pores and redness on your face. The make-up looks smoother and stays longer.

#Hack 3: Lipstick long last

We all want our lip color to last long and lips to look fuller. For this, place a tissue paper on your lips. Dab some loose powder on your lips. This intact your lip color and give a super matte look. You are photo ready within seconds!

#Hack 4: Dry Shampoo

Early meeting or an important class or a quick travel plan and no time for shampoo? Don’t worry. This emergency can be handled using baking powder. Take some dry baking powder and rub it on your scalp to get rid of the oiliness. This remedy absolutely works well when you haven’t washed your hair for 2-3 days. Your hair looks good and gorgeous.

#Hack 5: Sleek Pony Tail

The sleek ponytail look is trending now-a-days. But it requires a hell lot of hairsprays and chemicals. At this point Vaseline comes to the rescue. Rub some Vaseline from your scalp towards your ponytail and get that stunning sleek look. Vaseline causes no damage to the hair.

So have you guys liked all these hacks and found them useful? Give these beauty hacks a try and let me know about your experience. Also if you have any other useful and simple beauty hacks within your knowledge, please feel free to share them in the comment section below. Till then take care and stay beautiful. Lots of love this way.

THE BODY SHOP : STRAWBERRY EXTRACT.

Today I’m bringing you a brand that I have loved for many years now, ever since I was introduced to it. I absolutely love The Body Shop. I raved about their Vitamin E Gentle Face Wash, Cocoa Butter Lotion and Body Mists, before and a few other products as well. It’s my favourite body brand. But this time around, it has become my favourite bath brand too.

So for someone like me who loves indulgence and happiness, a strawberry body puree and strawberry body polish from TBS are like the souvenirs of luxurious treat. To begin with let me tell you that they smell absolutely divine! It’s so tempting; I guess I am going to finish these up very soon. Well honestly I was not a big fan of strawberry fragrance earlier but hands down for these products. It’s fruity but not in a nauseating way.

I will start with my first product from TBS which is the Strawberry Body Puree. It’s a hydrating all-over mild moisturizer that is great for summers. It is water based and rich in anti-oxidants and also spreads easily onto the skin. I love the way my skin feels hydrated and supple after the usage of this product. It has the strawberry extract and oil, glycerine and Shea butter. After a tiring day and a calming shower, this is the lotion that I want to pamper myself with. I consider this as a therapy that lifts your mood. I think I can even use this product during the beginning stages of winter before I completely switch myself to body butters. Although there is a slightly disappointing thing about this lotion is that it lacks SPF which I consider a must in every lotion that is summer friendly.

Moving on to the second product is the Strawberry Body Polish which contains Zambian Honey, strawberry juice, crushed walnut shells and kiwi seeds. It’s a very gentle exfoliator. I generally don’t like harsh exfoliators except for my feet. Dead skin cells are removed in no time without causing redness and make the skin feel extremely smooth, soft and moisturized. The fresh fruity smell lingers on for a while which is very overwhelming.

So if you happen to drop by a Body Shop store, go take a look at these products, maybe get a feel of them yourself! Bring home the goodness.
